Victor Cruz released from ICE custody, family says

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) – Victor Cruz has been released from the custody of Immigration and Customs Enforcement, his family told KOIN 6 News.

Cruz is a man from Mexico who has lived in the Hillsboro area for nearly 30 years with no criminal record, according to friends and family. Advocates say the grandfather’s detainment by immigration agents was a case of mistaken identity.

On Friday, Cruz’s daughter, Atziri Cruz, told KOIN 6 News Reporter Joelle Jones that he was released.
