Responding to community leads, Gresham police apprehended a 64-year-old suspect tied to a Halloween incident. Identified as David Mead Sr., he was taken into custody on Wednesday evening in connection with a disturbance at a local drive-thru. As reported by the City of Gresham, the arrest followed tips from the community that helped authorities quickly locate Mead.
Investigators learned he had shown a compressed-air device that can shoot irritants or small projectiles. It looks a lot like a real gun, which can make situations more tense. While owning it isn’t illegal, displaying it during a dispute can lead to charges. Mead is now charged with unlawful use of a weapon and three counts of menacing.
