A Gervais man pleaded guilty to hitting a federal officer with a water bottle near the Portland U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement office early last month.
On Nov. 5, Jairin Anzaldua-Ervin, 29, pleaded guilty to one count of assaulting a federal officer, a misdemeanor crime, which occurred during demonstrations in Portland.
The plea agreement states that the U.S. Department of Justice will recommend Anzaldua-Ervin serve four months of home detention, followed by a year of supervised release. The recommendation also requests he write a letter apologizing for his “assaultive conduct” and be prohibited from entering the Portland ICE center area…
