One hospitalized after significant fall from Southwest Portland apartment window

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — A person was hospitalized after officials said they fell over a dozen feet from a Southwest Portland apartment window onto a roof overnight Friday.

According to Portland Fire & Rescue, their crews were called to the Morrison Street Apartments where they found an individual had fallen 15 to 20 feet onto an elevated roof.

Since the victim was unable to move, officials said they considered using a high-angle rope system to bring them to ground level.

However, PF&R said their crews accessed a door and were able to take the victim down the stairs.

The victim was then taken to a hospital for treatment…
