Family of 12-year-old killed while biking files $2M suit against Hillsboro businesses, public agencies

The parents of a 12-year-old boy who was killed while cycling near a busy street in Hillsboro last year have sued two businesses on that street and local governments, alleging unsafe road conditions.

Sarah and Anthony Brausen, the parents of Joseph M. Brausen, seek a total of $2.2 million from Starbucks, Walgreens as well as the city of Hillsboro and Washington County, according to court papers filed last month.
