Homeless day center in St. Johns has become a magnet for livability issues, neighbors say

PORTLAND, Ore. — Roughly five months after Multnomah County turned a North Portland health clinic into a drop-in homeless day center, the location is showing results — not all of them appreciated by the community.

“You get clothes, you get food, you get showers and to do your laundry,” said Brandon, who frequents the North Portland day center.

“We have snacks and breakfast and coffee,” added Jeffrey Blainemoore, a visitor who said he’s been on the street “all (his) life.”…
