Portland program helps houseless veteran relocate pet pig to sanctuary

PORTLAND, Ore. (KATU) — Portland Fire & Rescue’s Community Health Assess and Treat (CHAT) program has been working diligently to assist a houseless veteran in finding new housing.

“I got really ill and I couldn’t pay my rent anymore, so I ended up living out of my car. My significant other passed away on me a month later. So yeah, that’s how me and these guys ended up in our car,” said Anthony James, who has been living in his car with his dog, Elvis, and a 250-pound pet pig, Roscoe.
