2,500 MILES: Austin man walks from Texas to Oregon for mental health, on track to reach Bend this weekend

BEND, Ore. (KTVZ) – Alex Bradley is walking from Austin, Texas to Oregon to raise awareness and funding for mental health support and suicide prevention.

A major reason he began this journey is his best friend, AJ, who died by suicide. Bradley says losing AJ changed the course of his life and pushed him to speak up for people who feel like they can’t.

“The reason I’m doing this is simple. I’ve lost people I love. I’ve talked to families who are still in it,” Bradley said. “A lot of people are carrying heavy things in silence. I want them to know they’re not alone.”…
