‘Such a violation’: Union Gospel Mission volunteer’s car stolen from parking lot on Thanksgiving

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — An 80-year-old woman is speaking out after her car was stolen while volunteering at the Union Gospel Mission in Portland on Thanksgiving.

The car’s owner, Cheryl, told KOIN 6 News she usually leaves her purse in her car when she comes to volunteer, since she didn’t feel safe walking down the street carrying it.

She’d parked and locked her 1999 Honda Accord in her usual spot, a lot on Northwest 1st and Davis just a few blocks from the mission…
