Portland man sentenced after attacking Molalla police officer, SWAT standoff

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) – A Portland man was sentenced to prison in late November after attacking a Molalla police officer — leading to a standoff with a SWAT team.

The Clackamas County District Attorney’s Office said 40-year-old Montgomery Ellsworth Gardner was sentenced to two years in prison on November 26.

The sentencing comes after Gardner pleaded guilty in Clackamas County Circuit Court to assaulting a public safety officer and felon in possession of a firearm charges.
