PPS board unanimously votes to buy property for Center for Black Student Excellence

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) – The Portland Public Schools board unanimously voted Tuesday night to approve the purchase of a property to establish the Center for Black Student Excellence.

Nichole Watson, the PPS Senior Director of Family and Community Engagement said, “I woke up this morning with the biggest smile on my face, thinking about what our board room looked like, thinking about the promise that we made to community and being able to deliver on that promise.”
