Off-duty Portland police officer accused of domestic violence, strangulation

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) – A Portland police officer was arrested on assault charges for an incident that took place while he was off duty, the Portland Police Bureau announced Monday.

Officer Jimmy Pryce faces two felony charges of strangulation and fourth-degree assault with a child present in Clackamas County. He also faces a misdemeanor charge of harassment constituting domestic violence.

Details of what led to the charges are unclear, though police say the recorded incident occurred on Nov. 29. PPB was notified of the arrest on Dec. 1.
