Massive I-5 Drug Bust in Oregon Leads to Seizure of Meth and Fentanyl Worth $225,000

Lane County, OR – A multi-state narcotics investigation ended with a major drug seizure on Interstate 5, where authorities recovered more than fifty pounds of methamphetamine and ten pounds of fentanyl powder during a traffic stop connected to a long-running federal probe.

Investigators said the arrest was part of a coordinated operation involving agencies in Oregon, Washington and Mexico, targeting a distribution network believed to be moving large volumes of dangerous narcotics across state lines.

Investigation Spanning Several States

According to the Clark County Sheriff’s Office, its Special Investigations Unit partnered with the Vancouver FBI office and an Oregon State Police K9 team as the case built momentum in early November. The multi-agency effort focused on a trafficking group suspected of transporting bulk quantities of illegal drugs through the Pacific Northwest.

The operation intensified after CCSO’s SIU executed a search warrant in Clark County, which set off a series of controlled buys and surveillance efforts. These steps eventually led investigators to a vehicle traveling south through Lane County on November 13.

During the I-5 stop, an Oregon State Police K9 alerted to the presence of narcotics.
