PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) – Authorities identified the remains of a man on Wednesday after his body was found in the Willamette River in late November.
The Benton County Sheriff’s Office identified the man as 34-year-old Jonathan Avery Smith of Albany.

Smith’s body was found November 29 when a river-goer reported seeing a body floating in the river.
Deputies recovered the body around 4:15 p.m. near river mile 122 on the west side of the river by Hyak Park. Authorities said Smith’s body was in the river for several days before being recovered.
