Portland man who killed homeless man under Burnside Bridge in 2022 sentenced

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — The man whoshot a homeless man to death under the Burnside Bridge over three years ago was sentenced to life in prison, the Multnomah County District Attorney’s Office announced Thursday.

Back in early April 2022, Riz’o Lucas was arrested after 33-year-old Fars Giday was found on the ground with a gunshot wound directly above his neck near Northwest Naito Parkway and Couch Street.

Giday was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead, according to Portland police.

According to the DA’s Office, video captured from nearby cameras showed Giday standing near a tent when Lucas walked up to him wearing a black mask, pulling a pistol from his pocket.
