VANCOUVER, Ore. (KATU) — Traffic safety is taking center stage at an event highlighting people and organizations who are working to keep Washingtonians safe on the roads.
In 2024, Washington recorded 823 traffic deaths, continuing an upward trend seen in recent years.
The event, named the Night of 1000 Stars Awards Ceremony, will be held today with the aim of recognizing law enforcement officers, community leaders, and organizations that have “demonstrated exceptional commitment to traffic safety in Region 6,” a release for the event said…
