Multnomah County Sheriff’s Office investigates fatal crash on Sauvie Island

PORTLAND, Ore. (KATU) — The Multnomah County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO) is investigating a fatal single-vehicle crash on Sauvie Island.

“This investigation began at approximately 2:50 p.m. on Monday, December 8, 2025, when dispatchers from the Bureau of Emergency Communications (BOEC) received information about a vehicle fire with human remains nearby in the 23000 block of Northwest Oak Island Road,” MCSO said in a press release.

The victim has been identified as 39-year-old Francis Thomas Grice, Jr. Officials say that toxicology results are pending with the Oregon State Medical Examiner’s Office…
