Portlanders demand return of ICE-tracking app outside downtown Apple store

Downtown Portland demonstrators directed their holiday jeer at Apple on Saturday, demanding the tech company restore an app that helps everyday onlookers report federal immigration enforcement activity.

ICEBlock allows users to anonymously flag sightings of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents and had garnered more than 1 million users. Apple removed the software from its app store in October after being contacted by U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi, who argued it placed federal officers in danger by letting users track their movements.
