Charles “Chuck” Lovell — who was thrust into the spotlight as the Portland Police Bureau’s top cop during a surge of social unrest in 2020 — is leaving the bureau.
Lovell, 52, will leave his current job as assistant chief of the services division at the end of the month for a new gig at a different local law enforcement agency, a bureau spokesperson announced Wednesday.
