Cat rescued after stuck atop Vancouver transmission pole for six days in drenching rain

VANCOUVER, Wash. (KATU) — Cheers erupted from the ground late Thursday night as a utility crew rescued a pet cat who had been stuck atop a transmission pole for six days, braving heavy rain and wind as an atmospheric river battered the region this week.

The 7-year-old orange tabby named “Brooks” climbed an energized transmission pole in the 3400 block of NE 94th Way six days ago and had not been able to get back down, according to its owners.

The owners told KATU they thought Brooks was being chased by a predator and climbed the pole to escape…
