The city of Portland spent nearly $831 million in the last fiscal year compensating its municipal workforce across more than two dozen bureaus, departments and elected offices.
That’s nearly a 5.4% increase from the $788 million spent the year prior, according to an analysis of city data by The Oregonian/OregonLive.
