The National Weather Service in Portland has issued a wind advisory that remains in effect from 7 AM to 4 PM PST tomorrow, cautioning residents of the Greater Portland/Vancouver Metro and surrounding areas about strong south winds expected to reach 10 to 25 mph with gusts up to 45 to 55 mph.
The affected regions extend beyond the metro areas, encompassing the Central and Southern Willamette Valley, Northern and Central Coast Range Valleys, mountains of Oregon, Foothills of the Northern and Central Oregon Cascades and down through the Willapa Hills reaching Pacific and Wahkiakum Counties. The advisory details unsecured objects are at risk of being blown around, tree limbs may be blown down, leading to potential power outages, and it advises precaution for those venturing out on the roads especially if driving high profile vehicles.
In addition to gusty conditions, the weather outlook from the NWS Portland office indicates that the region will also be facing a slew of rainy days ahead, with an 80% chance of precipitation tonight mostly after 11pm and a near continuous probability of rain through Friday. The chance of rain persists compounded by rising concerns about a snowy mix as the snow level is anticipated to drop to 2200 feet Friday night…
