PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — An Oregon man is facing state and federal charges after authorities say he was polite as he robbed Portland area banks while wearing polished suits earlier this month.
James Allyn Dorsey is facing three counts of third-degree robbery, three counts of first-degree theft, two counts of felon in possession of a firearm and one count of unlawful possession of methamphetamine in Washington County, while facing one federal charge of bank robbery, according to public court records.
In federal court documents, which were first reported by The Oregonian/OregonLive, Dorsey is accused of attempting to rob a Wells Fargo Bank on Dec. 10 on Beaverton Hillsdale Hwy in Portland, while completing bank robberies at a U.S. Bank and a Chase Bank on Dec. 12 and Dec. 19, respectively, and also on Beaverton Hillsdale Hwy.

In the Dec. 10 attempted bank robbery, Dorsey walked up to a bank teller and handed a note that read “Give me all your money,” and then said there was a second person waiting outside, according to the federal affidavit. The teller told the suspect she didn’t have a cash box at her work space and needed to go to a different area to get cash, and while she was away, she activated a silent robbery alarm and went to watch the suspect, later identified by authorities as Dorsey, on a security camera, watching him until he left the bank, according to court documents…
