In what has become an annual Portland tradition, couples will once again line up before dawn in downtown Portland at the start of the new year, hoping to snag a reservation at one of the city’s 200 public parks.
Those couples – brides and grooms to be – will be hoping to book the perfect place for their 2026 wedding: among the city’s public rose gardens, on top of Mount Tabor, under the redwoods at Hoyt Arboretum or at other beautiful locations.
They’ll get their chance on Monday, Jan. 5, when Portland Parks & Recreation begins accepting requests for park reservations. While couples can apply online or by phone, park officials prioritize in-person requests, resulting in the pre-dawn queue outside the Portland Building each winter…
