Hillsboro police: Suspect in custody after body found in driveway

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — A suspect is now in custody after a body was found in a car in a driveway in Hillsboro on Saturday afternoon, authorities said.

At 2:45 p.m., the Hillsboro Police Department said they responded to a report of a disturbance with a weapon at a residence near Southeast Tualatin Valley Highway and Southeast 18th Avenue. When officers arrived, they found “a deceased person in a car in the driveway of the residence,” Hillsboro police said in a social media post.

Police said they quickly located a suspect, then arrested them during a traffic stop near Southeast Brockwood Avenue and Southeast Davis Road. With the help of the Washington County Sheriff’s Office Tactical Negotiations Team, the suspect was taken into custody around 4:30 p.m. Police said there is no danger to the community.
