Idaho woman arrested after allegedly shooting boyfriend over Christmas cookies

BOISE, Idaho — A Twin Falls woman faces felony charges after investigators accuse her of shooting her boyfriend in the leg during an argument over Christmas cookies.

Kathryn Marie Welch, 53, is charged with felony aggravated battery with a deadly weapon, felony destruction or concealment of evidence, felony possession of a controlled substance and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia, according to court documents.

A probable cause affidavit alleges that on Dec. 23, deputies with the Twin Falls County Sheriff’s Office received a call about a 61-year-old man who had been shot by his girlfriend, Welch, at a home on Hillcrest Road East.
