Homeless man pulls gun on Brentwood-Darlington woman who offered help

What initially seemed to be a small incident – with just three police officers being dispatched, on November 24 at 5:39 p.m., to S.E. Rural Street at 74th Avenue – turned into a much more significant crime, to which twelve East Precinct officers responded.

Numerous police cruisers were in the area – and three of them were parked facing north on narrow, unpaved S.E. 74th Avenue with their spotlights shining up the road.

Another officer was speaking with a resident of a house, a half-block west on S.E. Rural Street. And yet another officer was stationed to the northeast, at 76th Avenue and Bybee Boulevard, looking west…
