Driver Found Deceased After Eluding Portland Police Ends in Fatal Beaverton Crash

In a tragic turn of events last Saturday morning, a driver who evaded a Portland Police stop was later found dead following a crash in Beaverton. As reported by KATU, the incident began at around 2:15 a.m. when the Portland Police attempted to stop a vehicle at Northwest 11th Avenue and Burnside Street for reckless driving. The driver briefly complied, but then sped off westward on Burnside Street when officers called for backup, in an apparent attempt to avoid further confrontation.

Police, choosing not to give chase to prevent the driver from continuing their reckless behavior, later observed the same vehicle operating “driving normally” on Southwest Barnes Road at 87th Avenue, as stated by a Portland Police spokesperson obtained by KATU. However, upon the approach of law enforcement, the driver made an abrupt U-turn – before police could activate lights and sirens.
