Venezuelan restaurant owner celebrates Maduro’s arrest from Portland

PORTLAND Ore. (KPTV) – The U.S. intervention in Venezuela has been met with a mix of reactions across the country and in Portland. Venezuelan immigrants living in the city say it has been a shocking weekend for their families overseas.

Inside a food hall in the Lents neighborhood is a restaurant run by two generations of proud Venezuelans who have lived in Portland for more than 15 years. They say they are celebrating, and while what’s unfolding overseas is complicated, they think life could become safer for their family back home.
