Celebrate hometown heroes and 100 years of uplifting Black history

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) – This February, the nation celebrates a century of African American history in America.

As part of the Black History Month commemoration, Juneteenth Oregon will host a local “Celebration of Legacy, Leadership and Oregon’s Hometown Heroes.”

The invitation-only event is set for February 8 at the Redd on Salmon. The gala honors leaders advancing equity, inclusion, and activism across the Pacific Northwest. Multnomah County Commissioner Vince Jones-Dixon will present an official proclamation.
