See the Pacific Northwest through Nez Perce eyes: OMSI’s newest exhibit brings 16,500 years of stories to life

Portland’s Oregon Museum of Science and Industry is turning the way people see the Pacific Northwest upside down — or maybe sideways — starting this weekend.

“Heads and Hearts: Seeing the Landscape through Nez Perce Eyes” invites visitors to explore the Pacific Northwest like never before, through the stories, knowledge, and eyes of the Nez Perce, or nimíipuu, starting Saturday, Jan. 10.

“Oregon Origins Project is thrilled to bring the Josephy Center’s first exhibit to Portland,” Executive Director of Oregon Origins Project Matthew Packwood said in a statement. “It’s a groundbreaking look at Nez Perce oral histories and how they reveal the ancient geology of this area.”…
