Vancouver man allegedly run over by ICE agent in December released on bond from Kentucky facility

VANCOUVER, Wash. — A Vancouver man who was allegedly run over by an ICE agent during his arrest in December has been released on bond from a detention center in Kentucky, according to Indivisible Greater Vancouver.

Jose Paniagua Calderon, 27, was detained by ICE on Dec. 4 in Vancouver. Since then, he has been transferred from detention centers in Tacoma to Indiana and then to Kentucky, his sister-in-law, Carmen Paniagua, said.

“After weeks of fear, uncertainty, and sleepless nights, we finally received the news we’ve been praying for,” Carmen Paniagua said in a statement posted on Facebook Thursday. “This journey has tested our hearts in ways we never imagined, but your prayers, messages, and unwavering support carried us through the darkest moments.”…
