Armed robber sticks up Reed neighborhood ‘car camper’

A robbery reported in the Reed neighborhood on Wednesday evening, November 21, led to six Central Precinct officers being dispatched at 6:16 p.m. to the intersection of S.E. Schiller Street at 30th Avenue, just beyond the northwest edge of the Garden Park Apartments.

In the darkness – because of their being little street lighting in the area – arriving officers were talking with a woman at a white car, parked with its hood raised.

“A woman called 9-1-1 and reported that she was asleep in her car when a suspect pointed a gun at her and robbed her – but she was not injured in the robbery,” PPB Public Information Officer Sergeant Kevin Allen later told THE BEE about the incident. “The suspect was gone when police arrived, and investigators are not releasing any suspect description at this point.”…
