PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — A Southwest Washington fire chief was found guilty of murdering his wife by a jury on Tuesday, two weeks after the trial started.
Kevin West, the former fire chief of Camas-Washougal Fire District, was found guilty of strangulating his wife Marcelle “Marcy” West in January 2024.
West had claimed his wife was having a seizure in the early morning hours of her death, but two months after her death, the medical examiner said the cause of death was asphyxia with “blunt neck force trauma.” He was later arrested and charged with her murder.
