Portland woman arrested on murder charge in fatal December hit-and-run

Portland police booked a 32-year-old Portland woman Thursday on charges connected to a fatal December hit-and-run in the Sumner neighborhood.

A grand jury earlier this month indicted Mary Grace Rust on charges of second-degree murder, unlawful use of a weapon and failure to perform the duties of a driver to injured persons.

Police responded to reports of a car hitting a pedestrian in the 8700 block of Northeast Prescott Street on Dec. 12 and found 63-year-old Anthony Boyd, of Portland, dead at the scene. Police said Boyd had just exited his own car and that the person who hit him fled.
