Climber who died after 300-foot fall on Mount Hood identified

MOUNT HOOD, Ore. — A climber died Sunday after falling an estimated 300 feet on Mount Hood, authorities said.

The Clackamas County Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call around 9:45 a.m. reporting that a climber had fallen near Devil’s Kitchen, according to a news release. Witnesses said he appeared to have lost his footing and fell.

Other climbers in the are were able to reach him and attempted life-saving measures, CCSO said…
