Portland Woman Arrested, Charged with Second Degree Murder in Hit-and-Run Death of Anthony Boyd

Portland law enforcement officials have arrested 32-year-old Mary G. Rust in connection with the hit-and-run death of Anthony Boyd, a 63-year-old Portland resident. Boyd was killed on December 12, 2025, and detectives from the Portland Police Bureau identified Rust during a traffic stop on January 21, according to a news release by the Portland Police Bureau.

Rust was apprehended at approximately 8:45 p.m. in the 3500 block of Northeast Rocky Butte Road. Having been taken into custody, Rust is now facing charges of Murder in the Second Degree, Unlawful Use of a Weapon, and Failure to Perform the Duties of a Driver. The suspect, who was lodged at the Multnomah County Detention Center, was arrested on an arrest warrant, as mentioned in the same news release.
