Injured bald eagle makes triumphant return to Portland park where she was rescued

A bald eagle was rescued from Pier Park in North Portland late last fall. She was brought to Dove Lewis and then the Bird Alliance of Oregon’s Wildlife Care Center for immediate care.

It is believed the bird got into an altercation over territory with another bald eagle, resulting in injury. Not only were her face, eyes and wing wounded, she was also found dehydrated and encrusted with dirt.

The center nursed the eagle back to health over the course of two months.
