Local schools closed, delayed due to illness outbreaks

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — Classes are being delayed or canceled at two local school districts due to separate illness outbreaks.

Corbett School District in East Multnomah County announced that all of their schools are closed Thursday after “a significant number of student and staff absences related to illness.”

“This decision was not made lightly, but it is necessary to ensure the health and safety of our students and staff and to allow time for recovery and mitigation,” a message posted on the Corbett School District website said.
