Portland nurse who died in Mt. Hood fall remembered as ‘genuinely good person’

Tommy Hostetler first felt the pull of the mountains when he was 19 years old.

It started with a trip to Denver for a Christian faith conference with his pastor father. Hostetler, who grew up in Georgia, spotted the rocky outline of Pikes Peak from the window where the event was held — and knew he had to climb it.
