PORTLAND, Ore. — Two men suspected of stealing more than $50,000 in a bank robbery in Depoe Bay have been detained, the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office said.
Around noon on Thursday, deputies responded to a bank robbery at Columbia Bank in Depoe Bay. Callers reported two men armed and wearing masks held staff at gun point, demanding access to the vault.
After stealing the money, the men drove south on Highway 101 in a red sedan without license plates. That vehicle was abandoned and set on fire at an empty site near Northeast Stanley and East Collins Street, about a mile away from the bank. A witness saw the suspects then get into a grey Toyota…
