Woodburn man accused of crashing car into deputy vehicle in Portland

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — A Woodburn man was arrested early Saturday morning after allegedly crashing his vehicle into a deputy car in Portland.

Jose Gabriel Herrera, 21, is also accused of driving recklessly and eluding law enforcement.

At 2:13 a.m., the Portland Police Bureau said an officer who was on patrol in the area observed a car drive past them at a high rate of speed near Northeast 148th Avenue and Northeast Glisan Street. The officer attempted to stop them but the suspect “was too far ahead and the officer lost sight” of the car, PPB said.
