PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — If you want to take one last spin on the indoor ice rink at the Lloyd Center, you may want to get to it sooner rather than later.
A new concert venue has been under construction at the site of the old Nordstrom store at the Lloyd Center. Now, KOIN 6 has learned that the plans to tear down the rest of that mall property are moving forward this week.
There were just a few people inside the Lloyd Center mall on Tuesday, as only a few stores are still open. When the mall opened in 1960, it was one of the largest in the country and was home to the first indoor mall skating rink in the U.S.
