Officer-involved shooting in Pearl District leaves suspect dead during warrant service

PORTLAND, Ore. (KATU) — Portland Police shot and killed a suspect Thursday morning while trying to take him into custody at an apartment building in the Pearl District, officials with the bureau said.

No officers were hurt in the shooting incident, bureau spokesperson Sgt. Kevin Allen said.

Officials say the suspect was connected to a case that began January 31, 2026, in which the suspect approached security guards at the Safeway in the 1400 block of Northwest Lovejoy, brandished a gun, and pulled the trigger…
