Gresham family who were arrested after seeking care for 7-year-old child heading home from Texas, Rep. Dexter says

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) – Democratic Congresswoman Maxine Dexter (OR-03) says the Gresham family that was being held in Texas following their arrest on their way to seek medical care for their seven-year-old child is heading home.

United States Border Patrol agents arrested Yohendry De Jesus Crespo and Darianny Liseth Gonzalez de Crespo – along with their seven-year-old child – on January 16.

“I’m filled with joy that our Oregon family is coming home and yet outraged for the many other children and families who remain imprisoned by our government. Detention of children and families is immoral,” said Dexter.  “End family detention. Defund and dismantle ICE. That is the moral path forward.”…
