PORTLAND, Ore. — For Tamara Williams, caring for her mother can be a challenging job. They’re both homeless — Williams in a shelter pod village and her mother in a trailer.
“There are periods of time where I can’t find my mom for like, six months,” Williams said. “I worry about her … I can’t do much about her mental state, but I can help her, like, be OK again and hope one day she’ll come back.”
