PORTLAND, Oregon (KOIN) — Three suspects were arrested around the Portland metro area after committing a series of burglaries that targeted people who endured tragedies that had been featured on the news, authorities said.
The Lake Oswego Police Department said that on Friday, they served the last of multiple warrants over three days related to an investigation that began several months ago. In total, seven different locations were searched by officers and detectives leading up to the arrests.
The accused burglars are 41-year-old Portland resident Nicholas R. Welter, 32-year-old Gresham resident Myranda Rice, and 60-year-old Molalla resident Michael Kelso.
In October of 2025, a house on Parkhill Street in Lake Oswego was broken into, with dozens of guns stolen in the process. The owner of the home was recently deceased, with the family in the process of going through his belongings…
