Rumors surfaced recently that the Acropolis Steakhouse, a longtime Inner Southeast Portland eatery and “gentleman’s club” on S.E. McLoughlin Boulevard at Umatilla Street, had shut down for good, and that the building was up for sale.
As it turns out, claims that the Acropolis is closed are untrue. What is factual is that the 4,276 sq.ft. building, still owned by Diane L. Polizos, indeed was put up for sale in December.
“We’re open for our regular hours, but we might start closing on Mondays,” a man told THE BEE on the phone at the restaurant. “We’ve been closed a couple of times when the cook or other necessary worker hasn’t showed up for work, but we’re open. We’ll be here, doing our thing, until the building sells,” he confirmed…
