Man’s night out in SE Portland ends with carjacking by armed 18-year-old, prosecutors say

A man’s night out ended in a Southeast Portland carjacking at gunpoint after he got drunk and fell asleep in the back of his BMW, he told police.

Prosecutors last week charged 18-year-old Kyren J. Collier with first-degree robbery, coercion, unauthorized use of a vehicle, possession of a stolen vehicle, reckless endangerment and reckless driving in connection with the alleged Tuesday carjacking.

A man told police he’d picked up two women that he knew only by their first names, collected alcohol and gone to a park, according to an affidavit of probable cause. The BMW owner told police he got drunk and dozed off in the backseat of his car while one of the two women drove, the affidavit says…
