PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — As Portland City Council began a meeting to consider how to spend millions of dollars in unbudgeted housing funds, a group of protesters interrupted the proceedings, resulting in four arrests Wednesday night.
City councilors initially heard from some Portlanders about the $20.7 million chunk missing from the city’s housing funds.
“I’m not sure why that much money went missing or was unaccounted for,” one speaker said. “I would hope there would be a much deeper dive into it to see if there’s not more that needs to be found.”
